Marlene Prinzing, MAPersonal and Professional Stress Management and Coaching
Think of yourself as a map of all that you are, all that you do, and all that is you. As we go through life, our body stores memory of EVERYTHING we do. You are, in fact, a walking Body-Blueprint of yourself.
Things go wrong when stored trauma in the body becomes imprinted into the autonomic nervous system. Somatic, or body, processing utilizes many methodologies to access this dysfunctional tissue memory and restore it back to harmony.
I started dance at age four. I graduated from Colorado University – Boulder with a Dance/Kinesiology degree and a Marketing/Advertising degree. I began teaching yoga soon after graduation because this was the first line in my Dance History textbook, “the oldest movement form is yoga”.
I am always interested in the origins of things, so this made sense. One of my yoga students mentioned that I taught yoga like the Somatic Therapists at Naropa University. She was correct.
In 2003, I obtained my Master’s Degree in Somatic-Body Psychology. As I began helping others at a deeper level I discovered my intuition for sensing others’ needs was spot-on. Then I noticed a pattern of healing that everyone seemed to go through. And it worked. It was successful. Another client said to me, “what you’re doing is unique – and you are unique – why don’t you call what you do – The Prinzing Method.
